10. The easiest way to kill Lice which I have found from past experience is to just comb them out! Find a comb and just continuously brush your hair onto something where you can see the lice come out. I use to brush them into the sink then wash them away so they do not get onto something and return into my hair. Be aware that you may not get all the lice when you do this so it is best practice to ask questions such as does hair dye kill lice and maybe try that method.

9. A natural way to kill lice is through the use of coconut oil. Coconut oil, unlike many of the shampoos and chemicals for sale to kill lice, does not contain the harmful side effects most of the shampoos and conditioners on the market do. After applying the coconut oil all over your head make sure you try and leave it in overnight so to kill the little annoying bugs. Put something in between your pillow and your head so that the pillow does not become stained from this procedure. It is a much easier and less harmful procedure than the common questions asked such as does hair dye kill lice.

8. Another natural remedy to kill lice which you will find in your kitchen cupboard is a jar of mayonnaise. Whilst this is not the safest option as mayonnaise does go bad if you leave it in the hair overnight it is by far the easiest in terms of accessibility as it is just in your kitchen cupboard. Parents often ask does hair dye kill lice and they should be given that answer that mayonnaise does. We advise to remove it from the hair after a while with a good wash with conditioner and then follow with a comb to remove any last bugs that are either dead or struggling to stay alive. Make sure you follow this step so they do not lay eggs which hatch whilst they are dying.

7. Whilst mayonnaise is a good remedy to kill lice another utensil that can be found around the house is Vaseline. Vaseline is a great way to kill lice as like mayonnaise it is easily located in your everyday household. Also unlike mayonnaise you can leave the Vaseline in overnight so that it makes sure to kill any remaining bugs. We suggest doing this three times whilst washing your hair in between and getting rid of as much of the Vaseline as possible with each wash as the lice tend to stick to it and follow it out of your hair. Please remember at the end to comb any last lice out.

6. Olive oil is also a great way to remove unwanted lice from your hair without wondering does hair dye kill lice. Olive oil actually dissolves the exoskeletons of the lice so they cannot live. Please note only olive oil and coconut oil dissolve the lice exoskeleton so do not bother trying other oils in your, or your child’s hair. Please not eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil are dangerous to babies so please do not put these anywhere that your baby can breathe the fumes in.

5. Household items seem to work the best to kill head lice. Vinegar is known to bypass things like does hair dye kill lice and take them on by itself. Whilst it may not be the nicest smelling thing to kill lice vinegar works overnight to get rid of those unwanted pests. Just rinse your hair with vinegar and leave it in for an hour and repeat for three days. The best way is to wear a shower cap whilst doing this to keep the hair moist at all times.

4. Another great way to kill the pests is to mix lemon juice and ground garlic clove together. Whilst this may also kill vampires it works wonders for destroying those annoying little insects in your hair. The stench this combination creates actually kills the insects. It works best if you apply this technique at night whilst leaving it in so the insects cannot breathe for a night. We suggest putting a shower cap over the top so to keep the smell confined to one space and repeating for two to three nights until all the lice are dead. Please remember to comb your hair after to remove all the dead lice otherwise they may fall out during embarrassing times such as at work or on your school desk and people might ask you stupid questions such as does hair dye kill lice.

3. Simple remedies such as applying tea tree oil with shampoo pose as a great way to kill lice or even prevent lice. Tea tree oil is great to remove dandruff and prevent lice from spreading whilst killing the little bugs. We suggest adding 12 drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo and continue to use the way you normally would.

2. There are shampoos and conditioners out there designed to kill hair dye better than someone could ask does hair dye kill lice. These products to sometimes contain harmful chemicals though so read the label and do your own research before you purchase them. They are the most potent ways to kill hair lice as they have the most harmful chemicals contained in them. The instructions will be on the packet you buy so please follow them carefully.
